The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pereira tries to close the distance and clinch but Lu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Lu connects with a right hand. Pereira shakes it off.
Pereira throws a series of punches but Lu avoids them all with ease.

Pereira's coach down at Helsinki Public Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Pereira's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

It looked like Lu wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Lu throws a shot from downtown. Pereira moves away and avoids it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lu swings wildly with an uppercut but Pereira uses good head movement to avoid it.

Lu is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Pereira to keep the fight standing.

Lu ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lu no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lu holds on and takes a little breather.
Lu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pereira manages to get himself to full guard.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lu, as that shot connected.

Pereira lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Pereira connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Pereira throws a series of punches but Lu avoids them all with ease.

Lu lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pereira circles away quickly and effectively.
Pereira unleashes a big counter combination but Lu bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Lu is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

It looks like Lu has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Lu is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Pereira shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Diego Pereira's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Lu cracks Pereira with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Pereira looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Lu finish him?

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Diego Pereira's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
