The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez tries to clinch but Kerr moves away
and Kerr counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Fabian Lopez has been cut.

Kerr tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lopez tries to score with some ground and pound. Kerr controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Kerr is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lopez asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Lopez doesn't manage to clinch there - Kerr circles away.

Lopez tries to close the distance and clinch but Kerr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kerr shoots in and drives through. Lopez sprawls well.
Lopez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kerr defends it nicely.
Lopez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kerr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lopez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kerr defends well and Lopez ends up having to push Kerr into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
