PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Montgomery Nagendra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Ratajczyk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Nagendra might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mozart - Lacrimosa. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ratajczyk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nagendra pinned against the cage. Nagendra gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A decent looking cross lands there for Nagendra.

It looks like Peter Ratajczyk has been cut.
Nagendra on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Nagendra closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nagendra lands in his opponent's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ratajczyk tries to get to full guard but Nagendra has control of the leg.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nagendra winds up and cracks Ratajczyk with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Ratajczyk has hold of Nagendra's hands but Nagendra slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Nagendra is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Ratajczyk is looking to control Nagendra's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ratajczyk avoid being mounted?

Ratajczyk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nagendra. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nagendra wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ratajczyk keeps working.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Nagendra is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ratajczyk doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nagendra.

Ratajczyk wants to control but Nagendra is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Nagendra goes for a double leg but Ratajczyk avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ratajczyk continues to drive forward.

That has opened up Peter Ratajczyk's cut even more.
Ratajczyk is looking to take this one to the mat.

Nagendra has clasped his hands together around Ratajczyk's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peter Ratajczyk's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Peter Ratajczyk's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
