Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Derek Legion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Legion comes to the cage accompanied by Winds of Plague - A Cold Day in Hell/Anthems to the Apocalypse. Tyler comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Solonen ja Kosola - RÄPPII kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tyler dives in and scores a takedown into Legion's guard.
Tyler is in close to Legion's body, working some short punches and elbows.
My spies in Wax on Wax off 'Dojo inform me that Tyler has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Legion is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tyler is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tyler connects with a nice short shot to Legion's temple.

Tyler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Legion with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Tyler is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Legion is just riding it out for now. Tyler eventually gives up the hold.

Tyler has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Legion defend it? Tyler steps over the head and cranks it - Legion is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Tyler!
