Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Gerow!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bessac has managed to clinch.
Gerow tries to land a knee to the head but Bessac blocks with his arms.
Gerow misses with a knee to the head.
Gerow has Bessac pressed against the cage, preventing Bessac from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Gerow is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bessac is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Gerow to the mat. Gerow regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Bessac gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Gerow looks winded!
No luck for Gerow with that takedown attempt.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gerow checks a leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bessac moves into the clinch.
Bessac tries for a takedown but Gerow manages to get underhooks.

Bessac breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Bessac thuds his right hand into Gerow's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Bessac ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Bessac forces Gerow back against the cage and clinches.
Bessac throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Bessac wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gerow has him pressed against the cage.

Bessac works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Bessac keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gerow's head.

Bessac controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bessac makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Bessac works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Bessac frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
