PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willy Killer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hunting High and Low. Rodrigo Silva has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Willy Killer!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Killer gets slowly back to his feet.

Killer closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silva did well to prevent Killer getting side control.

Killer wants to work for an arm triangle but Silva is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Killer seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Silva has recovered full guard.
Killer sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Silva's guard.

Killer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Killer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Killer goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Silva has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Killer but great work by Silva.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Silva scores with a one two! Killer had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Horrible takedown attempt by Killer or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva, which made it look bad.

and Silva counters with a head kick that drops Killer to the mat! Killer scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Rodrigo Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Willy Killer.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Killer tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.
Silva is trying to control the action in half guard but Killer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Killer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silva's back!

Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Killer tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Killer to the ground. Killer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Killer swings around for an armbar but Silva sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Killer's guard.
Silva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Silva tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Killer cranks the arm and Silva screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Silva, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Willy Killer!
