Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kurt Sloane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lenny Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sloane bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lewis is looking for a sweep.
Sloane creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lewis sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Sloane blocks the strikes from Lewis.

Sloane is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lewis has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sloane working away.
Lewis dodges the ground and pound from Sloane.
Sloane wants to stand but Lewis has his arm trapped.
Lewis wants to control but Sloane postures up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lewis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lewis's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Lewis duly obliges.


It looks like Kurt Sloane has been cut.
Lewis looks to land a body kick but Sloane moved away.

Lewis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lewis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sloane swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lewis counters with a nice leg kick.

Lewis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sloane's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sloane is on top in guard.
Lewis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sloane postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sloane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lewis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sloane is breathing heavily.
Sloane wants to stand and escape but instead Lewis has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Lewis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lewis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sloane's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sloane is looking to improve his position.

Lewis is trying to work for a kimura but Sloane is defending well.
Lewis working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Lewis prevents Sloane from improving his position.
Lewis with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Lewis winds up and cracks Sloane with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lewis seems to be working for a kimura but Sloane defends the submission attempt.
Sloane wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lewis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Lewis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Lewis is trying for a kimura here. Sloane looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Lewis wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lenny Lewis!
