Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shael Connen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes to the cage accompanied by Wiley - Take That. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 29 - 1, fighting out of London, Jason Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Shael Connen!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lee tries to clinch but Connen moves out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Lee misses the target.
Lee keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Connen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lee throws a lazy uppercut

and Connen counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lee!
Lee tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lee is working hard here to advance position.
Connen wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy.
Lee manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Lee is trying to maintain the position but Connen is very close to passing his half guard.

Connen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Connen thows a huge punch but Lee dodges it nicely.
Connen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Lee wants to control but Connen is keeping busy.
Connen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lee's head.
Connen has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Connen misses with a head shot.
Lee tries to lock up and control but Connen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Connen wants to control the pace but Lee is squirming around nicely.
Lee tries to reverse the position but Connen maintains control.
Lee tries to hold on but Connen pushes him away.
Connen content just to control the position here.
Connen prevents Lee from getting the reversal.
Connen throwing strikes here but Lee is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Lee is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Lee bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Lee wants to control from the top but Connen keeps moving.

Lee stops Connen from standing up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Connen is on top in guard.

Connen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Connen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Connen is looking for a kimura but Lee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Connen to get the leverage.

Connen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lee does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Lee is refusing to be controlled, as Connen sits in half guard.

Connen is working for an americana but Lee has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Connen was thinking about the submission.

Connen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shael Connen dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Connen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Lee cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Horrible takedown attempt by Connen or perhaps it was just good defense by Lee, which made it look bad.
Connen dives in and grabs Lee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes down on Connen's head and hops out.
Jason Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shael Connen.
Lee stuffs the takedown attempt from Connen. Connen gets slowly back to his feet.
Connen slips under a jab.
Lee throws a right hand that Connen ducks under and follows up with a left that Connen also avoids with ease.
Lee throws a jab when Connen was well out of range.
Connen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Connen somewhat.
Lee throws a right and a left that Connen avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Connen swats away the attempt to clinch by Lee.
Connen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lee pinned against the cage. Lee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Lee loads up on a big right hand but Connen slips the punch.
Connen takes a swing at Lee's ribcage but misses.
No joy there for Lee, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Connen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lee circles away.
Lee fails to land with a series of punches.
Lee misses with a lunging right hand

and Connen counters with a single leg into guard. Lee didn't expect that.

Connen scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Connen wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.
Connen distracts Lee with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Connen landing some decent shots from guard.
Lee preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee controls Connen momentarily but Connen frees himself.
Lee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee keeping moving, preventing Connen from controlling successfully.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Connen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lee.

Connen circles away from the clinch attempt.
A punch combination from Connen misses.
A right-left combo lands from Lee.
Lee doesn't manage to clinch there - Connen circles away.
Connen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lee.
Connen misses with a takedown attempt
and Lee counters with a one-two to the body.
Connen avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Lee clinches up with Connen and pushes him back against the cage.
Lee is pressed up against the cage. Connen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lee down to the mat. Lee avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Connen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lee manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Connen is looking to work some ground and pound but Lee has wrist control.
Connen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Connen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Connen pushing down on Lee's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Lee makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Connen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lee defends it nicely.

Lee clinches up against the cage.
Lee slows down the pace here.
Connen is trying to pull guard but Lee has him pressed against the cage.
Lee is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Connen is working for takedown but Lee is calmly controlling the position for now.
Lee scores with a hook to the body.
Connen is breathing heavily.

Connen pulls guard effortlessly.
Connen wants to sweep here but Lee controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Lee dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Lee misses the shot to the body.
Lee just misses with a punch to the body.
Lee throws a big shot that misses.
Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from Connen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Connen avoids the body shot from Lee.
Lee looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Lee looks to land a left hand but Connen moved out of range nicely.
Lee stuffs the takedown attempt from Connen. Connen gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Connen throws a nice looking combination but Lee bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Connen moves away from the strike by Lee.
Lee lands with a nice combination. Connen backs away looking to recover.
Connen tries for a takedown but Lee circles away easily
and Lee counters with a lovely straight right hand!


Connen is rocked!
Jason Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shael Connen.
Connen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lee gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Connen is still on wobbly legs! Can Lee finish him?
Lee comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Lee lands a knee to the body.
Lee throws a big uppercut that drops Connen! More strikes from Lee and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Connen lies dazed against the cage as Lee celebrates with his cornermen!
