Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abubakar Shekau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Saliva-Badass kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Abubakar Shekau has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abubakar Shekau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony King!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shekau scores with a decent looking hook.
King shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shekau as he jumps to the side.
A telegraphed right hand from Shekau misses the target.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that King has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

King clinches up with Shekau and pushes him back against the cage.

King manages to break the clinch.

King closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
King is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Shekau is defending well.

King jumps guard.
Shekau looking to sit in guard and control but King gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

King wants to control from the top but Shekau keeps moving.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
King is looking to work some ground and pound but Shekau has wrist control.

Shekau wants to stand and escape but King is having none of it.
King cracks Shekau with a solid left hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shekau can't keep his opponent in guard - King advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
King prevents Shekau from standing back up.
Shekau tries to kick King off in order to stand up. King Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
King misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

King tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
King is looking to take a break and control but Shekau is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Shekau is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but King has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Shekau takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
King works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
King remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Shekau is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Shekau knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for King on the ground.
King wants to control but Shekau is keeping him busy.

Shekau looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
King looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shekau is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Shekau circles away and we're back to standing.
Abubakar Shekau has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony King.
Shekau lands a lovely overhand right.

King closes the distance and clinches up with Shekau, looking for a takedown. King pushes Shekau against the cage but Shekau circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Shekau tries to land a leg kick but King saw it coming and moves away.
Shekau defends well against a solid takedown attempt from King.
King uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shekau.
King shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shekau pinned against the cage. Shekau gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
King tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shekau sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten King somewhat.
King looks winded!
Shekau throws out a loose jab but King uses good head movement to avoid it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
King shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shekau as he jumps to the side.
Shekau thuds a left hand into King's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tony King will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Nice uppercut there from Shekau.

Shekau drops King with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but King looks back up at him and smiles so Shekau waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Shekau throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tony King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
King's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shekau connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! King scrambles back to his feet.
King is still on wobbly legs! Can Shekau finish him?
King uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shekau.
King seems to have recovered his senses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
No luck for King with that takedown attempt.
King takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Shekau steps in with a hook that catches King right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Shekau follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! King looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Abubakar Shekau!
