Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Viktor Gragula!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Austin!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gragula showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Austin.
Austin wants to clinch up but Gragula keeps it at a distance.

and Gragula counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Gragula is looking to take this one to the mat.
Gragula prevents Austin from breaking the clinch.
Austin lands a nice uppercut.
Gragula has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Austin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Austin lands a nice shot to the body.
Gragula jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Austin walks away with a smile on his face. Gragula gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Viktor Gragula. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Gragula counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Austin!
Austin is not content to let Gragula control the position.

Gragula tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gragula has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Austin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gragula asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Gragula is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Austin has escaped the position, nice work there.
Austin is trying to control Gragula's posture but Gragula avoids it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gragula thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Gragula is trying to get an arm triangle but Austin is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Austin is not content to let Gragula control the position.
Gragula misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Austin wants to get back to his feet.
Austin wants to control but Gragula postures up.

Gragula thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gragula has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gragula swings around for an armbar but Austin sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gragula's guard.

Austin is posturing up here but Gragula has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Austin tries to roll out but it's too tight and Austin has to tap! Slick submission there by Gragula!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Viktor Gragula!
