The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matwijenko connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Panek slips a jab from Matwijenko.
Matwijenko has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Pihkalan Sali in the buildup to the fight.

Good leg kick by Panek there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Matwijenko tries to move into range but Panek moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Matwijenko throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Panek takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Matwijenko's corner calls for a 1-2. Matwijenko obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Matwijenko thows a leg kick but Panek checks it
and Panek counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Panek fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Matwijenko manages to avoid it.
Matwijenko Throws a clean left jab. Matwijenko Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Panek's chin! Panek crumbles to the ground and Matwijenko follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Matwijenko!

In his post fight interview, Iwan Matwijenko started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
