Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trent Weeks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard Brown!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown gets a double leg takedown into Weeks's guard.
Weeks wants to sweep but no luck.
Brown trying to control the position from guard on top but Weeks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Brown stopping the sweep attempt from Weeks.
Weeks is working hard here to advance position.
Weeks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Brown chips away with some ground and pound.
Weeks lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Weeks will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Brown utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brown is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Weeks is aware though and is defending well.
Brown is looking to stand up but Weeks isn't so interested in that idea.
Weeks has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brown is proving hard to escape from.
Weeks postures up in Brown's guard and throws a big left but Brown blocks it.
Weeks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Weeks working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Weeks trying to stand up but can't free himself from Brown's guard.
Brown working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Weeks.
Weeks loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brown can do anything to dispel that myth.
Brown wants to stand and escape but Weeks is having none of it.
Weeks postures up in Brown's guard and throws a big left but Brown blocks it.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Weeks is looking to work some ground and pound but Brown has wrist control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Weeks pushes Brown up against the cage in a clinch.
Weeks is trying to break the clinch but Brown has him pressed against the cage.
Weeks tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Weeks is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Brown is defending well.
Weeks is working for takedown but Brown is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trent Weeks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Weeks is breathing heavily.

Brown gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Weeks regains guard.

Brown drops back looking for a leg! Weeks is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Weeks manages to kick Brown off! Brown jumps back into Weeks's guard.
Weeks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Brown working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Weeks's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Weeks tries to strike from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brown is stalling in the full guard.
Weeks looking for a sweep. Not yet Weeks, not yet.
Brown scoring with punches to the head and body.

Brown gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Weeks on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Brown shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brown was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Weeks is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Brown's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Brown is pressing down on Weeks's thigh, looking to free his foot. Weeks is holding on for now.

Brown decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Weeks throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Weeks shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brown as he jumps to the side.

Weeks gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Brown to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Brown thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richard Brown dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Brown gets the takedown into side control.
Weeks gets back to half guard.

Brown is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Brown is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Weeks defends it well.
Brown working over Weeks with some ground and pound. Weeks looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Brown is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weeks wants to get back to full guard.
Weeks is pressing down on Brown's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Weeks looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brown is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Weeks keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully.
Weeks lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Weeks looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Weeks looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Brown stopping the sweep attempt from Weeks.

Brown drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Brown as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Weeks screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Brown! Nice submission victory there!
