PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andres Machete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bonhomme Sept Heures (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machete kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lonely Day . Sept Heures has chosen Monster Mash as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 1, fighting out of London, Andres Machete!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bonhomme Sept Heures!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machete takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Sept Heures throws a quick inside leg kick.

Sept Heures feints and as Machete raises his hands in defense, Sept Heures changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sept Heures trying to control but Machete is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Machete is on top in guard.


Sept Heures is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Machete defends well.
Sept Heures wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Machete stays in close to Sept Heures's body and controls the position.

Sept Heures is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Machete is aware though and is defending well.

Sept Heures shoots for a takedown but Machete saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Horrible takedown attempt by Sept Heures or perhaps it was just good defense by Machete, which made it look bad.

Machete connects with a leg kick. Sept Heures looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Sept Heures changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Machete tries to avoid it but Sept Heures manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Machete to the ground. Machete escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sept Heures tries to land a front kick but Machete steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Machete gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sept Heures to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sept Heures has gone for a leg lock! Machete slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sept Heures's guard.

Machete is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Machete throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sept Heures sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Machete tries to sprawl but Sept Heures drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Sept Heures wants to take a breather but Machete is having none of it.
Machete makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Machete.
Machete has control of Sept Heures's left arm, preventing Sept Heures from doing any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
