Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phillip Jack Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zalac tries for a takedown but Brooks circles away easily

and Brooks counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Zalac!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zalac is looking for a sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brooks just content to control the position.

Zalac can't do much from the bottom here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Brooks avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Zalac looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Brooks puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sloppy strikes from Zalac. Those never looked like landing.
Zalac rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brooks moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The crowd cheers as Zalac lands an impressive looking overhand right. Brooks doesn't seem phased though.

Zalac darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Zalac is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Zalac looking for a sweep but Brooks has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Zalac is trying to escape the mount.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brooks looking to control and managing it successfully.
Brooks's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Zalac is trying desperately to improve position.

Brooks controlling from the full mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Zalac really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Zalac tries to lock up and control but Brooks gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Phillip Jack Brooks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Zalac looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

You can see the frustration on Zalac's face as Brooks controls the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Brooks lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Zalac has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brooks is working away from the top position though.

Zalac is looking for a sweep. Brooks is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Brooks uses his free foot to push down on Zalac's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zalac.

Zalac tries to hold on but Brooks pushes him away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Phillip Jack Brooks comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Brooks winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
