PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Dantas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rasul Khasbulaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). He arrived on a last minute flight shortly after looking tired and unhappy. Officials decided the fight should still take place, much to the delight of the fans in attendance.
Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Dantas and Rasul Khasbulaev. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Jose Dantas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rasul Khasbulaev!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Dantas counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Dantas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Khasbulaev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dantas has managed to get both his arms back between Khasbulaev's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
