Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eduardo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Veli Schwarzeneg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eduardo Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 46 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Veli Schwarzeneg!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schwarzeneg tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.
Silva feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Schwarzeneg's calf.
Silva looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Schwarzeneg gets the takedown into side control.

Schwarzeneg thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Silva tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Schwarzeneg wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Silva is trying to work for a sweep but Schwarzeneg has mounted him!
Silva tries to reverse the position but Schwarzeneg maintains control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schwarzeneg tries to score with some ground and pound. Silva controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Silva is looking to regain half guard here but Schwarzeneg keeps moving and retains side control.
Schwarzeneg passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Silva!

Schwarzeneg lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Silva is looking to improve his position but Schwarzeneg isn't that keen on the idea.

Silva is bucking up trying to escape but Schwarzeneg cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Silva manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Schwarzeneg tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Schwarzeneg is nestled in close to Silva, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Schwarzeneg has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Schwarzeneg moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Silva.
Silva tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Schwarzeneg decides to stand back up. Schwarzeneg steps back and let's Silva get back to his feet.

and Schwarzeneg holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Silva lands a left hand that snaps the head of Schwarzeneg backwards.
Silva crunches a lovely knee into Schwarzeneg's ribcage.

Silva is fighting off a takedown attempt but Schwarzeneg is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Silva to the mat. Silva regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Silva has his foot on Schwarzeneg's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schwarzeneg works his way back into a safe position though.
Silva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Silva is working an open guard so Schwarzeneg takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Silva tries to clinch up.

Schwarzeneg gets tackled into the cage by Silva. Silva maintains the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schwarzeneg blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Silva obliges.
Schwarzeneg tries to pull guard but Silva won't allow it.
Eduardo Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Veli Schwarzeneg.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Veli Schwarzeneg will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Silva lands with a nice combination. Schwarzeneg backs away looking to recover.
Eduardo Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A left and a right from Silva both land. Nice combination.


Schwarzeneg is rocked!

Silva moves into range and clinches up with Schwarzeneg.
Schwarzeneg is still on wobbly legs! Can Silva finish him?
Silva has Schwarzeneg pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Schwarzeneg is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Silva - that's hurt Schwarzeneg badly! Oh, another knee lands and Schwarzeneg is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Schwarzeneg doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Eduardo Silva!
Eduardo Silva spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
