PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cid Strife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Bisping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Strife comes to the cage accompanied by Anciients - Raise the Sun. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strife tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bisping paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bisping looks for a takedown but Strife sprawls well.
Bisping fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bisping is defended easily by Strife.
We've been told by Strife's head coaches at Ninjin no Tamanegi that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Cid Strife has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Bisping.

Strife has managed to clinch.

Strife digs a right hand into Bisping's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bisping's gas tank.
Bisping jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Strife walks away with a smile on his face. Bisping gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Strife rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bisping moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bisping tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Strife smiles and moves away.
Bisping darts in looking for a takedown but Strife gets double underhooks and turns Bisping into the cage.

Strife will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Bisping up against the cage.

Bisping tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Strife smiles and moves away.
Bisping dives in for a single leg takedown but Strife sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Strife lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Bisping.
Strife throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bispings head.
Strife pushes Bisping back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Strife lands a right hand that snaps the head of Bisping backwards.
Bisping's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Strife lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Bisping or not.

Strife gets through Bisping's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Strife creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Bisping's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Bisping drops to his knees and Strife pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

A relieved looking Cid Strife thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
