Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michaud Korrs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matthew Murdock!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murdock connects with a leg kick. Korrs looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Korrs has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Korrs there as he acknowledges the shot.

Korrs gets a clinch.
Murdock lands an uppercut.
Murdock lands an uppercut.
Korrs takes an elbow to the temple.
Murdock connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like Michaud Korrs has been cut.
Korrs is looking to break free of the clinch but Murdock has double underhooks.
Korrs is looking to control Murdock's arms but Murdock gets an underhook and turns him. Now Korrs has his back to the cage.
Korrs takes a shot to the head.
Murdock lands a knee to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Murdock scores with a shoulder strike.
Murdock lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Korrs tries to break the clinch but Murdock is controlling the position.
Korrs is trying to maintain a safe position but Murdock gets an underhook and turns Korrs into the cage.
Murdock misses with a knee strike.
Murdock lands a knee to the body.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Korrs is trying to push Murdock away but Murdock has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Korrs is trying to stall.
Murdock lands an elbow inside.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Murdock working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Murdock comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Murdock gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Murdock lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Murdock's coach down at Gracie Barra Hilo (Sauna + Bang for your Buck) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Murdock's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Oh Korrs is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Korrs seems to have got his legs back now.
Murdock makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Murdock lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Murdock using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Murdock lands with a short head shot on the inside.
A nice left hand lands by Murdock.

Murdock connects with a massive knee from the clinch and Korrs goes down! Murdock jumps into full mount looking to finish!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Murdock tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Korrs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Korrs has left one of his arms exposed and Murdock doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Korrs screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Matthew Murdock!
Matthew Murdock very nearly forgot to thank Soul Supremacy Fight Gear amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
