PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wolfram Stelzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stelzer comes to the cage accompanied by Satyricon - K.I.N.G.. Kingston is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: 2pac - I'm Soulja. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Wolfram Stelzer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Nate Kingston!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Summer Carpenter and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingston rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stelzer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Stelzer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kingston.

and Kingston counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Kingston throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kingston stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Stelzer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kingston paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kingston goes for a takedown in the clinch but Stelzer prevents it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Stelzer.
Kingston tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Stelzer avoids it.

Stelzer is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Kingston throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Stelzer blocks it with crossed arms.
We've been hearing reports that Stelzer has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Kingston swings wildly with an uppercut but Stelzer uses good head movement to avoid it.

Stelzer is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kingston to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kingston shrugs it off.

Kingston had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stelzer defends it easily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Stelzer has hold of Kingston's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kingston manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
