Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Fortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Boyette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trent Boyette will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyette moves in looking to clinch but Fortiz pushes him off.

Fortiz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Boyette napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Boyette is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Boyette breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fortiz goes for a double leg but Boyette avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Boyette continues to drive forward.
Boyette is looking to control Fortiz's arms but Fortiz gets an underhook and turns him. Now Boyette has his back to the cage.
Boyette tries to pull guard but Fortiz won't allow it.
Boyette is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Fortiz is keeping busy.

Boyette's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fortiz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Boyette looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Boyette is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Brian Fortiz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fortiz has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Boyette is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Boyette is breathing heavily.
Fortiz wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Fortiz is stinking the place up with his stalling.

That's time! Fortiz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Boyette enables Fortiz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Boyette manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fortiz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Boyette's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Fortiz wants to take his opponent's back but Boyette doesn't allow it.

Boyette is trying to get back to his feet but Fortiz has full control of the position and if anything, Boyette has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Boyette is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Fortiz.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
