PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benito Oneil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Driscoll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Alex Driscoll was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Benito Oneil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Driscoll!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Driscoll tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Oneil misses with a wild body shot.
A combination from Driscoll does no damage.
Oneil looks to score with a jab to the body but Driscoll is just out of range.
Oneil misses with a two punch combination.
Oneil defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Driscoll.
Oneil checks a leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Driscoll looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Driscoll shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Oneil but Oneil pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Driscoll tries to clinch but Oneil is having none of it.

Oneil tries to keep at a distance but Driscoll has taken the fight into the clinch.

Oneil jumps guard and drags Driscoll to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Oneil tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Driscoll wants to stand and escape but instead Oneil has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


Oneil drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Oneil as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Driscoll screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Oneil! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Benito Oneil!
