PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Toretta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dean might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Christopher comes out and hi all the fans and climbs in the ring. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dean circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dean looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Dean will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Toretta drives through with a takedown into guard.
Toretta wants to pass the guard but Dean is keeping the position.
Toretta stands and throws Dean's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Toretta in particular looking to stall.

Toretta looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dean with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Dean's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Toretta is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dean can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Frank Toretta comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Toretta has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
