Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Haleb Sukayev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Warren Peace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Warren Peace looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Haleb Sukayev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Warren Peace!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peace dives in and grabs Sukayev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sukayev pushes down on Peace's head and hops out.

Peace feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Peace is fighting to break Sukayev's control of his arms but Sukayev is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Sukayev has his foot on Peace's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Peace works his way back into a safe position though.
My spies in Gracie Barra Hilo (Sauna + Bang for your Buck) inform me that Peace has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Peace drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sukayev looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sukayev looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sukayev!

Peace is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Peace is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sukayev connects with a decent elbow.

Sukayev is keen to just control but Peace is a slippery customer.

Sukayev seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Peace does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Sukayev looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Sukayev seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Peace is looking to improve his position.
Sukayev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Peace keeps working.

Sukayev is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Peace is just riding it out for now. Sukayev eventually gives up the hold.
Peace tries to roll over but Sukayev keeps him under control.

Peace is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sukayev pulls his head out easily.
Peace is looking for a sweep. Sukayev is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sukayev is looking for a kimura here.
Sukayev landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Sukayev is trying to control. Peace wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sukayev is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peace is refusing to be controlled, as Sukayev sits in half guard.
Peace tries to roll over but Sukayev keeps him under control.
Sukayev wants to take a breather but Peace is having none of it.
Sukayev working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Peace is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peace keeps trying to improve his position.
Peace gets full guard.
Sukayev trying to control but Peace is working from the bottom.

Peace escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sukayev gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sukayev avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sukayev has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Peace looks winded!
Sukayev advances to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sukayev slows the pace down in half guard.
Peace is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sukayev scores with a couple of nice shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Haleb Sukayev dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Sukayev dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Peace. That did some damage!
Sukayev lands with a shot to the body.

A jab-cross combination lands for Sukayev and sends Peace crashing to the mat! Sukayev follows him down to the mat - Peace regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


It looks like Warren Peace has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sukayev is trying to control the action in half guard but Peace is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Peace tries to roll over but Sukayev keeps him under control.
Sukayev slows the pace down in half guard.
Sukayev has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Peace gets full guard.
Sukayev is in close to Peace's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Sukayev controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Peace is looking for a triangle but Sukayev pushes his legs off easily.
Peace is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sukayev passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Sukayev advances nicely into full mount.
Sukayev working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Sukayev controlling from the full mount.
The referee warns Peace that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


Peace is rocked!
Sukayev postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Peace out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Sukayev goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Haleb Sukayev!
Our winner, Haleb Sukayev, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
