Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wade Garrett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wade Garrett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Jones!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garrett moves out of range as Jones throws a body kick.

Garrett bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

Garrett takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Garrett is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jones can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Poor strikes thrown by Garrett there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones is looking for a triangle but Garrett pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Garrett changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Garrett is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bob Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Garrett got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Garrett has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.
Garrett seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Garrett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wade Garrett.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Garrett, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
