Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Ambrose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eloi Prosper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Desmond Ambrose has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Desmond Ambrose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eloi Prosper!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Prosper gets the takedown into side control.
Ambrose struggling a bit here.

Prosper tries for a kimura but Ambrose is defending well.
Prosper looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Ambrose is avoiding damage well.
Prosper controlling from side mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Prosper tries to move to mount but Ambrose blocks the move with his legs.

Prosper lands a decent elbow from side control.
Ambrose is working to avoid the ground and pound but Prosper connects with a decent elbow.
Prosper misses with the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Prosper's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Oh Ambrose is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

It looks like Prosper might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Prosper manages to capitalize on a mistake by Ambrose to take his back!
Ambrose seems to have got his legs back now.

Ambrose is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Let's hope that Prosper has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Prosper.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Ambrose breaks Prosper's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Prosper wants to sweep but no luck.

Prosper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ambrose defends it easily.
Ambrose wants to get up but he can't break Prosper's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ambrose throws a poor cross that misses

and Prosper counters with a takedown into side control.
Ambrose is trying to work for a sweep but Prosper has mounted him!
Ambrose keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Prosper swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ambrose is now in Prosper's guard. A big mistake from Prosper there, giving up the dominant position!
Ambrose would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Ambrose trying to stand up but can't free himself from Prosper's guard.
Prosper looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Prosper seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Prosper has a closed guard, preventing Ambrose from standing up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Prosper shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Prosper showed some decent athleticism there.
Prosper not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Prosper perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Ambrose actively working from the bottom here.

Prosper wants to pass to mount but Ambrose is defending the position.
Prosper content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Ambrose regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Prosper.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ambrose has an active guard here but Prosper has managed to pass into half guard.

Eloi Prosper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Prosper closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ambrose is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Ambrose's face as Prosper controls the position.
Prosper advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Prosper is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ambrose has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ambrose!
Eloi Prosper has got the better of the ground game so far.
Prosper is pulling down on Ambrose's head. It's preventing any offense from Ambrose, at least for the moment.

Ambrose is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Prosper is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Prosper has escaped and now he's on top!


Prosper stands and steps away. Ambrose gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Prosper shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ambrose defends it nicely.

Ambrose is fighting off a takedown attempt but Prosper is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ambrose to the mat. Ambrose regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Prosper controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Prosper sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ambrose's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ambrose wants to control but Prosper is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Prosper stalling.
Prosper thows a huge punch but Ambrose dodges it nicely.

Prosper decides to return to a standing position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Prosper shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Desmond Ambrose has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Eloi Prosper is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
A head punch on the inside from Ambrose fails to land.

And that's the end of the fight!
Eloi Prosper comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Prosper winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
