Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reuven Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen welcome to the jungle as his entrance music. Reuven Johnson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Reuven Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas shoots and misses

and Johnson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Johnson.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving.
Johnson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Johnson blocks the strikes from Thomas.
Thomas wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson tries for a kimura but Thomas is defending well.
Thomas seems a little lost for a moment, as Johnson dominates the positioning.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Thomas can't do much from the bottom here.
Thomas is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Johnson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Thomas wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Johnson is looking to advance position but Thomas won't allow it.
Johnson is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Johnson.
Thomas shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense.

Johnson instigates a clinch.
Johnson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Johnson gets control of Thomas's arms and successfully pulls guard. Johnson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Thomas postures up and lands a big shot to Johnson's brow.
Johnson wants to stand and escape but Thomas is having none of it.
Johnson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Thomas.

Johnson has his foot on Thomas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thomas works his way back into a safe position though.
Thomas throws a big elbow that misses.
Thomas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Johnson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Johnson wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A head kick misses from Johnson.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Thomas is trying to control but can't.
Thomas wants to get back to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Johnson is controlling the pace.

Johnson is looking for a kimura but Thomas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Johnson to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reuven Johnson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Thomas could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Thomas is trying to pull guard but Johnson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Johnson lands an uppercut.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Johnson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Thomas gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Johnson effectively controlling the action here.
A head punch on the inside from Thomas fails to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson breaks the clinch.
Thomas circles away from the clinch attempt.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thomas jumps guard but Johnson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Johnson lands a left hand.
Thomas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Johnson walks away with a smile on his face. Thomas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greg Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thomas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thomas gets slowly back to his feet.
Johnson misses with a body shot.
Reuven Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses.
Thomas circles away from the clinch attempt

and Thomas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Johnson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Thomas has his hands clasped together but Johnson extends and breaks Thomas's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Johnson.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Reuven Johnson!
After winning the bout, Reuven Johnson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
