Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Massimo Paterno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Broker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paterno has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Massimo Paterno has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paterno shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Broker as he avoids it easily.
Broker closes the distance but Paterno moves to the side

and Paterno counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Paterno trying to control the position from guard on top but Broker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Broker seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Broker can do anything to dispel that myth.
Broker wants to control but Paterno passes easily into half guard.

Broker wants to stand back up but Paterno manages to pass into side control.
Paterno slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Broker.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Broker is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Broker tries to hold on but Paterno postures up.

Broker tries to improve his position but Paterno has taken his back! Paterno has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Broker tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Paterno pushes Broker away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
