Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hammer Fist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hammer Fist!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ivan Locke!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Fist or perhaps it was just good defense by Locke, which made it look bad.

Fist has Locke up against the cage in a clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Locke has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Fist successfully pulls guard.
Locke trying to control but Fist is working from the bottom.
Fist is trying to keep Locke in close.
Locke being controlled here momentarily.
Fist throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fist is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Locke has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fist is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Fist throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Ivan Locke has been cut.
Fist displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Locke throws out the jab.
Locke shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fist pinned against the cage. Fist gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Locke looks winded!
Locke tries for a takedown but Fist sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Locke thows a leg kick but Fist checks it

and Fist counters with a crisp one two that drops Locke! Fist thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Locke to his feet! Locke is in big trouble!


Locke is rocked!
Fist looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Fist moves into range and clinches up with Locke.
Locke is still on wobbly legs! Can Fist finish him?
Fist lands a left hand.
Nice elbow from Fist.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A frustrated look appears on Locke's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Fist stalling the fight.

Fist drags the fight down to the ground.
Fist is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fist is controlling the pace.

Fist is looking for a kimura here.
Locke seems to have recovered his senses.
Fist trying to control the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Locke is in trouble now - Fist has advanced to mount!
Fist trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fist controlling the pace for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fist has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Locke's face.
Locke is squirming around, avoiding Fist's attempts to control the action.
Fist controlling from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Ivan Locke's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Fist misses with the combination.
Locke throws a sloppy body shot
and Fist makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Fist bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fist connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Locke some visible discomfort.

Fist decides to stand back up.
Locke throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fist fails in his attempt to clinch.
Fist shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Locke sprawls well. Locke wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fist gets slowly back to his feet.
Locke is breathing heavily.

Fist clinches.

Fist breaks the clinch.
Locke throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fist stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Fist doesn't manage to clinch there - Locke circles away.
Hammer Fist is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fist moves out of range of the strikes.

Fist darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Fist is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Fist is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Locke can do to turn this around?

Fist decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Fist has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice elbow from Fist.

Fist's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Locke with a lazy takedown attempt

and Fist counters with a takedown into side control.
Fist staying calm.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fist cracks Locke with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Fist wants to lay and pray for a moment but Locke keeps working.

Fist decides to stand back up. Fist steps back and let's Locke get back to his feet.

Fist moves into the clinch successfully.
Fist taking a breather.
Fist wants a takedown.

Fist manages to pull guard.
Fist lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hammer Fist overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fist not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Fist with a flurry of punches that miss.
Locke keeping moving, preventing Fist from controlling successfully.
Fist throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Fist pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Locke is keeping the position for now.
Fist is looking to work some ground and pound but Locke has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Fist feints and as Locke raises his hands in defense, Fist changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Locke being controlled here, momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fist stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Locke swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Locke takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fist throws a big right hand that misses.
Fist is stalling in the full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Fist wants to control from the top but Locke keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Fist.

Fist is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Locke's half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fist passes to side control.
Fist has control of an arm but Locke manages to advance to Fist's back!
Fist prevents Locke from getting a body triangle.
Fist just trying to survive but Locke is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Fist rolls, trying to escape but Locke keeps control of the position.

Fist is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fist fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fist clinches up against the cage.
Locke wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fist has him pressed against the cage.
Fist has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Locke avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Fist breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Locke stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hammer Fist. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fist scores with a one two! Locke had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Fist shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Locke manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Locke is working an open guard so Fist takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Fist shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fist was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Fist decides to stand up, so the ref orders Locke to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Locke gets tackled into the cage by Fist. Fist maintains the clinch.
Fist changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Locke fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Fist instigates a clinch.
Ivan Locke has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hammer Fist has scored more points in the clinch so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fist pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Locke tries to bum rush Fist with a series of wild strikes but Fist uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Fist looking to score a takedown here. Locke is defending well but Fist drives through and ends up in Locke's guard.
Hammer Fist is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Locke has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Fist is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Locke.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hammer Fist showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Fist has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
