Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Silas Joyce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Outlaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Outlaw has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Silas Joyce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Outlaw!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joyce stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Outlaw.
Dan Outlaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Joyce misses with a head kick.
Joyce wants to clinch up but Outlaw keeps it at a distance.
Joyce uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Outlaw.
Outlaw lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Outlaw lands with an overhand left.
Joyce misses with a jab, cross combination.
Outlaw throws a head kick that misses.
Nice sprawl there from Outlaw as Joyce shoots in.
Outlaw connects with a leg kick. Joyce looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Outlaw fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Joyce.
Outlaw misses with a head kick.
Outlaw fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Joyce has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Joyce gets the takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Outlaw tries to bench press Joyce off him but Joyce keeps the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Joyce feints and as Outlaw raises his hands in defense, Joyce changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Joyce slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Joyce trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Joyce is fighting to break Outlaw's control of his arms but Outlaw is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Joyce stops Outlaw from standing up.
Outlaw is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Joyce prevents Outlaw from getting back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Joyce instigates a clinch.

Outlaw breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Outlaw is looking to score with low kicks.
Outlaw tries a head kick but it misses.
An inside leg kick lands from Outlaw.
Outlaw throws a hook but Joyce avoids it easily.
Outlaw tries to land a leg kick but Joyce saw it coming and moves away.
Outlaw throws a jab when Joyce was well out of range.
Outlaw throws a body punch but Joyce moves out of range.
Outlaw misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Joyce tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dan Outlaw is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Joyce misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Joyce uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Outlaw.
Joyce tries to close the distance and clinch up but Outlaw swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Joyce bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Outlaw misses with a low kick.
Joyce checks the leg kick nicely there.
Joyce really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Outlaw throws a body punch but Joyce moves out of range.
A head kick misses from Outlaw.
Outlaw throws a sloppy head kick and Joyce moves out of range easily.
Outlaw connects with a nice looking jab.
Joyce blocks a head kick by Outlaw.
Outlaw swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Horrible takedown attempt by Joyce or perhaps it was just good defense by Outlaw, which made it look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Outlaw dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Joyce shoots in looking for a takedown. Outlaw tries to sprawl out of it but Joyce keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Outlaw manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Joyce takes one on the button.
Joyce misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Outlaw buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Outlaw misses with a wild body shot.
Joyce shoots for a double leg takedown but Outlaw sprawls well. He's pushed Joyce's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dan Outlaw seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Good leg kick by Outlaw there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
That kick from Outlaw tenderised Joyce's leg. Joyce is trying to keep his angry face on.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Outlaw waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Joyce.
Joyce shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Outlaw misses with a head kick.
Outlaw just misses with a punch to the body.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Joyce checks a leg kick.

Outlaw throws a nice head kick!
Outlaw tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Joyce darts in looking for a takedown but Outlaw gets double underhooks and turns Joyce into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Silas Joyce. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Outlaw escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Outlaw lands with an uppercut that bounces Joyce off the cage and back into range.
Good leg kick by Outlaw there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Joyce is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Joyce fails with an attempt to clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from Outlaw misses the target.

Joyce slips a jab from Outlaw.
Joyce takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Outlaw throws a jab but it's blocked by Joyce.

Outlaw is trying to break the clinch but Joyce is controlling him.
Outlaw keeps control of Joyce as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

and Joyce counters with a stiff right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Outlaw motions for Joyce to come forward. Outlaw throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Joyce avoids the head kick by Outlaw.
Outlaw is breathing heavily.
Outlaw fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Joyce has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Joyce takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Joyce shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Outlaw as he jumps to the side.
Joyce uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Outlaw.
A slapping body kick lands there for Outlaw.
Outlaw is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Joyce.

Joyce drives through with a takedown into Outlaw's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Dan Outlaw showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Joyce shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Outlaw sprawls well. Outlaw wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Joyce gets slowly back to his feet.

Outlaw feints and then cracks Joyce's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Joyce down.

and Joyce counters with a three punch combo that has Outlaw backing up. Outlaw nods at Joyce to acknowledge the strikes.

Outlaw throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Joyce tries to clinch there but Outlaw circles away.
Outlaw misses with a hook. Joyce ducked under it nicely.

Joyce throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Outlaw tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Joyce is in Outlaw's guard.

Outlaw has his hands on Joyce's head, controlling the position.
Joyce is looking to work some ground and pound but Outlaw has wrist control.

Joyce will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
