The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jassikka will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Thastrom throws a nice looking combination but Jassikka bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jassikka shoots for a double leg takedown but Thastrom sprawls well. He's pushed Jassikka's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Thastrom stuffs the takedown attempt from Jassikka. Jassikka gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jouko Jassikka. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Thastrom throws a left that rocks Jassikka and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Thastrom dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Jassikka regain composure!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thastrom decides to stand back up.
Jassikka seems to have got his legs back now.
Thastrom throws a right and a left that both miss.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Jassikka. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Thastrom throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jassikka on the side of the head.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Thastrom! Jassikka is backing up but he can't get away as Thastrom lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Jassikka and ends the fight. Great knockout.
