Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Roveda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Pablo Roveda enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roveda throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vega was covering up waiting for the punch and Roveda finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Vega will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Roveda stands up and waves to Vega to follow him.

Roveda shoots in and bounces Vega off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Roveda feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Vega is working an open guard so Roveda takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Roveda lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vega circles away quickly and effectively.
Roveda misses with a jab, cross combination.

Roveda takes the fight into the clinch.

Vega's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Roveda shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Roveda was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Roveda tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Vega manages to get back to half guard.
Roveda blocks the strikes from Vega.

Roveda stands up and beckons Vega to join him on the feet.
A slow jab from Roveda misses its intended target.

Roveda shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vega's guard.
Roveda has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vega is proving hard to escape from.

Roveda gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Vega shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Roveda napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Vega seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Roveda shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Vega is backing up but Roveda catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Vega covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Roveda Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
