Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarold Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Poison. Jarold Jackson is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jarold Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maximus pushes Jackson up against the cage in a clinch.
Jackson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Jackson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Jackson wants to sweep but no luck.
Jackson is controlling Maximus's posture.
Maximus looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Jackson has Maximus pulled in close to control his posture.
Maximus slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Jackson is doing well to control the position and prevent Maximus from advancing to side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Maximus shoots in and gets a takedown into Jackson's guard.
Maximus will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jackson has control of Maximus's left arm, preventing Maximus from doing any damage.
Let's hope that Jackson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Maximus slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maximus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maximus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Jackson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Maximus connects with a couple of short punches.
Maximus throws a big right hand that misses.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Maximus definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robbie Maximus dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


An inside leg kick lands from Maximus.
Maximus misses with the combination.
Maximus is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jackson can do to turn this around?

Maximus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson is trying to control the position but Maximus postures up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Maximus closes the distance and clinches.

Jackson decides to pull guard.
Jackson is adopting a defensive guard.
Maximus trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.

Jackson pulls Maximus in to control the position.
Jackson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Maximus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Maximus has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Jackson is pulling down on Maximus's head. It's preventing any offense from Maximus, at least for the moment.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Jackson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Maximus tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jackson is in Maximus's guard.

Robbie Maximus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A close second round but Jarold Jackson will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Jackson gets caught flat footed, as Maximus shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Maximus tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard.
Maximus wants to get up but he can't break Jackson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jackson pulls Maximus in to control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jackson controls Maximus momentarily but Maximus frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Maximus trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Maximus throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Maximus darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jackson is looking to control Maximus's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jackson avoid being mounted?

Jackson wants to improve his position but Maximus is controlling well.
Maximus looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Maximus seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jackson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jackson is controlling Maximus's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Maximus wants to take a breather but Jackson is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jackson holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson controls Maximus momentarily but Maximus frees himself.

Robbie Maximus showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Maximus has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
