The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sorentino enables Brondolfrson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sorentino manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sorentino is not content to let Brondolfrson control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Sorentino scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Brondolfrson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sorentino tries to avoid it but Brondolfrson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sorentino to the ground. Sorentino escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sorentino stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sorentino wants it to stay on the feet.

Brondolfrson shoots in for a takedown but Sorentino shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sorentino dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Brondolfrson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sorentino cracks Brondolfrson with an open hand slap.
Sorentino connects with a nice cross there... Brondolfrson is looking wobbly and Sorentino recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Brondolfrson to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Sorentino jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
