Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rubin Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes to the ring accompanied by Bob Dylan - Hurricane. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rubin Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Victor Ortiz!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter throws a head kick that misses.
Ortiz takes one on the button.
Ortiz looks to land a left hand but Carter moved out of range nicely.
Ortiz throws a poor cross that misses
and Carter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ortiz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Carter.
Ortiz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Carter.
Ortiz checks a low kick from Carter.
Carter throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters circling - Carter throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ortiz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ortiz clobbers Carter with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

It looks like Rubin Carter has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carter slips a jab from Ortiz.
Ortiz misses with an uppercut
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Ortiz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Carter.
Carter connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Carter cracks a nice hook into Ortiz's ribs.
Carter fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ortiz looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ortiz stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ortiz has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A jab from Ortiz misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carter ducks under a wild hook from Ortiz.
Ortiz rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Carter counters with a two punch combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ortiz throws a combination that misses
and Carter counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ortiz's knee momentarily.
Ortiz misses with the combination.
Carter jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Ortiz is rocked!
Ortiz drops his hands momentarily. Carter doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Ortiz staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Ortiz doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rubin Carter!
