Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spurt Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tank Abbot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tired and clearly flustered, he entered the arena late and after a little discussion it was decided that the bout should take place.
Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spurt Reynolds and Tank Abbot. Spurt Reynolds could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tank Abbot's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Spurt Reynolds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tank Abbot!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Abbot.
Reynolds connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Abbot's hands.

Abbot pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Abbot stuffs the takedown attempt from Reynolds. Reynolds gets slowly back to his feet.
Abbot misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Reynolds throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Abbot's waist but Abbot gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Reynolds off to one side.
Reynolds ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Abbot moves away.
Abbot is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Reynolds.

Abbot throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Reynolds shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Reynolds showed some decent athleticism there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Reynolds connects with a nice short shot to Abbot's temple.

Abbot is staying active underneath Reynolds, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Abbot avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Abbot can do anything to dispel that myth.

Abbot takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Reynolds is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Abbot can do to turn this around?

Reynolds has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Reynolds connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Abbot to escape the position.

Reynolds is trying to stick to Abbot's back but Abbot is turning into Reynolds. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Reynolds's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Abbot.
Abbot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reynolds swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Reynolds is looking to pass Abbot's guard but actually Abbot recovers to full guard.

Abbot lands a leg kick that knocks Reynolds off balance momentarily.

Reynolds closes the distance and clinches.
Reynolds is trying to push Abbot away but Abbot has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Reynolds has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Abbot avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The fight stays on the outside here - Reynolds looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Tank Abbot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
