Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Diego (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quick Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Eliza Hachem and Ben Watson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Diego looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Silver!
Silver tries to buck Diego off but Diego is having none of it.
Silver is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Diego is controlling him well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diego is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Silver sees it coming and defends easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Jason Diego will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Silver throws a right and a left that Diego avoids nicely.

Silver throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Diego's waist but Diego gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silver off to one side.

Diego feints and as Silver raises his hands in defense, Diego changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Diego shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Silver cracks Diego with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Silver manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Diego on his heels. He'll look to pass Diego's guard now, I'm sure.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Silver shoots in for a double leg but Diego sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Silver will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Silver feints a jab promting Diego to slip. Silver then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Diego slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Diego closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Diego lands in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Diego stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silver swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Silver is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Diego defends well.

Silver working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Diego doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Diego manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Diego seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

I would just about give that final round to Quick Silver.
Well Silver has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
