Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Branson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Wiggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Branson comes to the cage accompanied by Meytal Cohen - Toxicity. Wiggins has chosen Rock Chalk Jayhawk as his entrance music. Andrew Wiggins has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Wiggins!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Branson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wiggins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wiggins misses with a looping right.
Wiggins throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Branson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Branson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wiggins sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Branson somewhat.
Branson fails with the takedown
and Wiggins counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Wiggins moves into range and connects with a jab.
Branson fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Branson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A swing and a miss from Wiggins.
Branson moves in looking to clinch but Wiggins pushes him off.
Wiggins thows a left - swing and a miss!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Andrew Wiggins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Horrible takedown attempt by Branson or perhaps it was just good defense by Wiggins, which made it look bad.
Branson fails to land the takedown.
Wiggins lands a head shot.
Branson darts in looking for a takedown but Wiggins gets double underhooks and turns Branson into the cage.
Branson jumps guard but Wiggins stands there with Branson around his waist. Branson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Wiggins cracks Branson with a nice body shot.
Wiggins lands with a right to the head.

Branson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Branson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Branson is working for a submission of some sort.

Branson seems to be working for a kimura but Wiggins defends the submission attempt.
Wiggins gets back to full guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Branson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Wiggins looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Branson trying to control the position from guard on top but Wiggins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Branson is looking to advance position but Wiggins has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

My spies in Farrell Pikey Camp inform me that Wiggins has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Wiggins can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Branson is looking to escape.
Branson is looking to improve his position but Wiggins isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Branson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Wiggins lands a jab to the nose.

Wiggins wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Wiggins misses with the head strike.
Wiggins misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Branson drags the fight down to the ground.
Branson looking for a sweep. Not yet Branson, not yet.
Branson keeping moving, preventing Wiggins from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wiggins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Branson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wiggins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wiggins is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wiggins stopping the sweep attempt from Branson.
Kyle Branson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Branson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wiggins's guard.

Branson looking to sit in guard and control but Wiggins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Branson is looking for a triangle but Wiggins pushes his legs off easily.
Wiggins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Wiggins wants to control from the top but Branson keeps moving.

Wiggins not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Wiggins stands and throws Branson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Branson is trying to improve his position.
Branson is not content to let Wiggins control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Branson is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Wiggins is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Branson regains half guard.

Branson looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Branson wants to improve his position but Wiggins is controlling well.

Branson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wiggins pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kyle Branson will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Branson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wiggins as he avoids it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Branson is defended easily by Wiggins.

Nice uppercut lands for Wiggins. That snapped Branson's head back.
Wiggins connects with a high kick.


Branson is rocked!
Wiggins lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Branson falls backwards - clearly groggy! Wiggins dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andrew Wiggins!
A relieved looking Andrew Wiggins thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
