Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mose Barron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Laford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laford is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Jail Break. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laford scores with a crisp jab that stopped Barron in his tracks.
Laford lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Barron fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Laford sprawls well initially but Barron persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Well, if Barron is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Barron seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Laford for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barron is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Laford is just riding it out for now. Barron eventually gives up the hold.
Barron controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Laford moves into full guard.
Laford wants to get back to his feet but Barron is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Barron is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Nice body punch from Laford.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Laford shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Laford shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Barron napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Barron throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Barron is trying to control Laford's posture but Laford avoids it.
Laford throws a strike aimed at the side of Barron's head but Barron avoids it well.
Barron could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Laford in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Barron prevents Laford from moving into mount.
Laford is chipping away with strikes.
Barron is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Laford is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Barron sees it coming and defends easily.
Laford is pressing down on Barron's thigh, looking to free his foot. Barron is holding on for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Laford has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Barron defend it? Laford steps over the head and cranks it - Barron is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Laford!
