Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Gauthier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Gauthier. No joy for Thomas on that attempt.
Gauthier tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gauthier has Thomas up against the cage in a clinch.
Gauthier is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Thomas gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Thomas drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gauthier gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Thomas wants to pass the guard but Gauthier is keeping the position.
Gauthier wants to sweep here but Thomas controlling him for the moment.
Thomas wants to control from the top but Gauthier keeps moving.

Gauthier is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Thomas wants to stand and escape but instead Gauthier has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
No luck for Thomas with that takedown attempt.
Jimmy Gauthier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Thomas.
Thomas looks gassed!
Thomas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gauthier as he avoids it easily.

Thomas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gauthier's waist but Gauthier gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thomas off to one side.

Gauthier drops down looking for an ankle pick but Thomas pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gauthier bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Thomas looks to move to half guard but instead Gauthier has passed into mount! Damn!
Thomas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gauthier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Thomas tries to improve his position but Gauthier has taken his back! Gauthier has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Thomas tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Gauthier pushes Thomas away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
