Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dilbert The D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shorty Mcmidget (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dilbert The D!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Shorty Mcmidget!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcmidget feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The D has Mcmidget pulled in close to control his posture.

Mcmidget drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and The D dives on top into guard.
Mcmidget not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The D trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcmidget is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mcmidget looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The D wants to pass the guard but Mcmidget is keeping the position.
The D trying to control but Mcmidget is working from the bottom.

Mcmidget tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mcmidget wants to hit a switch here but The D passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Mcmidget there!
Mcmidget wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Mcmidget is really stuck here.
Mcmidget is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The D just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The D has the hooks in. Mcmidget is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mcmidget trying to control the hands but The D won't let him.
The D is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Mcmidget up.
Mcmidget rolls, trying to escape but The D keeps control of the position.
The D is looking to control Mcmidget but Mcmidget is wriggling around and keeping busy.

The D is looking for the choke from the back position but Mcmidget is controlling his hands well.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mcmidget manages to reverse the position and now he's in The D's guard. Nice work there by Mcmidget.

That was a close round but I would say that Dilbert The D will probably get the nod.

so Mcmidget counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Mcmidget trying to control but The D is working from the bottom.
The D avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mcmidget passes The D's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Mcmidget is working for a submission of some sort.
Mcmidget tries to pass the half guard into mount. The D knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mcmidget is taking a breather. The D says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Mcmidget wants to advance to full mount but The D doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Mcmidget sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed The D's guard.
The D keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The D moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Mcmidget throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as The D works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mcmidget tries to free his leg and advance position but The D is retaining full guard.

Mcmidget drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and The D dives on top into guard.

Mcmidget looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! The D has picked Mcmidget up and slammed him! Mcmidget can't keep hold of the triangle and The D manages to pass to side control!
The D tries to move to mount but Mcmidget blocks the move with his legs.
Mcmidget is looking for a sweep.

The D cracks Mcmidget with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Mcmidget wants to control but The D postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mcmidget throws a front kick aimed at The D's knee but The D avoids it well.
The D gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Mcmidget counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Mcmidget is looking to work some ground and pound but The D has wrist control.
Mcmidget looking to sit in guard and control but The D gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mcmidget looking for submissions from the bottom but instead The D passes into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The D wants to take a breather but Mcmidget is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The D is pressing down on Mcmidget's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mcmidget is holding on for now.
Mcmidget is pressing down on The D's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Mcmidget has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. The D is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mcmidget.
Mcmidget sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shorty Mcmidget showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


The D with a poor takedown

and Mcmidget counters with a shoot takedown. The D fights it but they end up in guard.
Mcmidget with a flurry of punches that miss.
The D avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The D looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mcmidget wants to control from the top but The D keeps moving.
Mcmidget stands and throws The D's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ground and pound from Mcmidget seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The D is trying to get back to half guard.

Mcmidget working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mcmidget swings around for an armbar but The D sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mcmidget's guard.
The D trying to control but Mcmidget is working from the bottom.
Mcmidget manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mcmidget tries to control but The D wriggling away.
Shorty Mcmidget has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mcmidget thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Mcmidget unloads with some shots from mount but The D bucks and avoids them well.

Mcmidget is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But The D has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from The D!
The D won't allow Mcmidget to sweep him here.
The D looking to pass the guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The D wants to control from the top but Mcmidget keeps moving.
Mcmidget working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from The D.

Mcmidget had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. The D is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mcmidget Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take The D's back instead.
Mcmidget missing with punches from the back.

Mcmidget is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Mcmidget is persistently looking for the submission but The D is defending it well.

The D is having to fend off submission attempts from Mcmidget, who is looking to sink in the choke. Mcmidget doesn't have the hooks in though and The D manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.

Mcmidget escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. The D gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mcmidget looking to hit a scissor sweep but The D is one step ahead there.

Shorty Mcmidget comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mcmidget has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
