The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barlow slips a jab from Swanson.
Swanson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Barlow.
Swanson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barlow manages to avoid it.
Swanson lands the left hand.
Swanson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Swanson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Barlow.
Barlow fails to land the takedown.
Swanson leaves Barlow with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Barlow moves forwards but Swanson connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Swanson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Barlow moves out of range of the strikes.
Barlow really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Swanson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Barlow shoots in for a takedown but Swanson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Swanson scores with a sloppy right hand. Barlow should have avoided that one.

Swanson throws a sloppy head kick and Barlow moves out of range easily.
Barlow is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Swanson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Barlow had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

That's time! Barlow's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Barlow doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Swanson throws a shot from downtown. Barlow moves away and avoids it.
Swanson tries to bum rush Barlow with a series of wild strikes but Barlow uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Swanson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Swanson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Swanson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Barlow throws his legs up looking for a submission but Swanson uses it to pass to side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Barlow is looking for a triangle here but Swanson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Swanson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Barlow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Swanson tries to avoid it but Barlow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Swanson to the ground. Swanson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Oh Barlow is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Swanson cracks Barlow with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Barlow falls to his knees and Swanson doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
