Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pete Peters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jonathan Roy!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roy dives in for a single leg takedown but Peters sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Roy creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Peters blocking some punches.
Roy blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Peters throws an elbow that misses.
Roy drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Peters looking to stall.
Peters scores with a hook to the body.
Roy tries a knee to the head but Peters blocks it.

Roy pulls Peters into guard.
Peters sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Roy can't keep his opponent in guard - Peters advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peters content to control rather than advance.
Roy tries to kick Peters off but Peters keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Well, if Peters is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Roy is trying to stand up here but Peters is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Roy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Roy clinches up against the cage.

Peters struggles to land a body shot inside as Roy controls his hands.
Peters works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Peters lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Roy.

It looks like Jonathan Roy has been cut.
Peters tries to throw a body punch but Roy avoids it by throwing Peters back against the cage.
Peters lands an uppercut.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Peters escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Roy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Peters doesn't manage to clinch there - Roy circles away.
Roy keeps the fight on the outside.
Peters tries to clinch up but Roy circles away and keeps his distance.

Peters clinches up against the cage.
Roy looking to throw knees to the head but Peters is blocking nicely.
Peters lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Peters breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Peters doesn't manage to clinch there - Roy circles away.
Peters fails in his attempt to clinch.
Peters tries to clinch there but Roy circles away.
Peters closes the distance but Roy moves to the side
and Roy counters with a nice uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Peters tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Peters tries to close the distance and clinch up but Roy swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Peters rushes Roy and presses him up against the cage.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

That has opened up Jonathan Roy's cut even more.

Peters presses Roy against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Peters creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Roy's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Roy drops to his knees and Peters pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pete Peters!
