Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Respect Fadda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Caliph James!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fadda is defended easily by James.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fadda.
James throws a leg kick but Fadda sees it coming and moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Fadda is trying hard to land a takedown here. James sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Respect Fadda. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
We've been told by Fadda's head coaches at Gracie Barra Hilo (Sauna + Bang for your Buck) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
James scores with a crisp jab that stopped Fadda in his tracks.
Fadda shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with James but James pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Fadda uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by James.
James motions for Fadda to come forward. James throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James stuffs the takedown.
James has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

James defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fadda.
Fadda shoots in for a double leg but James sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
James looks to land a right hand but Fadda moved out of range.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fadda is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, James has escaped the position, nice work there.
James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fadda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fadda wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by James, who protects the arm well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if James can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fadda is looking to take a break and control but James is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

James seems a little lost for a moment, as Fadda dominates the positioning.

Fadda has hold of James's arm. He's looking for a kimura. James seems comfortable defending it but Fadda has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! James is real pain and he's forced to tap out! James is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Fadda couldn't care less - he's delighted!
