Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Bright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Rojas!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rojas shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Rojas with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Rojas is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Rojas is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rojas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Let's hope that Rojas has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rojas lands a nice short elbow.

Rojas is looking for a kimura here.
Rojas content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
It looks like Rojas might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Rojas gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rojas takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rojas lands a nice short elbow.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ground and pound from Rojas.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rojas landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodrigo Rojas dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Rojas takes the fight into the clinch.

Rojas is trying to trip Bright. He has hold of a leg but Bright is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Rojas persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Bright will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rojas with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.


Bright is rocked!
Bright wants to control the position but Rojas says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Oh Bright is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rojas winds up and cracks Bright with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Rojas lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Bright! More strikes land and this one is all over! Rojas jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rodrigo Rojas!
