Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gaius Octavius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Medeiros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Octavius comes to the cage accompanied by Capital Steez-Shooting Stars. Rodrigo Medeiros has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gaius Octavius's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Octavius motions for Medeiros to come forward. Octavius throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Octavius looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Octavius uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Medeiros lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

and Medeiros counters with a nice low kick that buckles Octavius's knee momentarily.
A bone on bone clash there as Medeiros blocks the leg kick.
Medeiros looks to land a body kick but Octavius moved away.

Gaius Octavius seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Octavius pulls out of a head kick attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Medeiros drops Octavius with a right and a left! Medeiros comes rushing in but Octavius regains his composure and manages to keep Medeiros in guard.

Octavius is rocked!

It looks like Gaius Octavius has been cut.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Medeiros wants to get up but he can't break Octavius's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Oh Octavius is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Medeiros is looking to work some ground and pound but Octavius has wrist control.
Octavius seems to have got his legs back now.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Octavius gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Medeiros gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Octavius is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Rodrigo Medeiros decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
Gaius Octavius was interviewed post fight and said 'It is all good. next time I will come out more prepared and bring more than 100% I will most likely bring out 1,000,000% of all I got and will come out with the victory instead of the loss I took'.
