Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harvey Griffith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shstobah Supq (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Supq comes into a darkened arena with his song building. YG - My Nigga kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Shstobah Supq has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Harvey Griffith's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Harvey Griffith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shstobah Supq!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Supq closes the distance and pushes Griffith back into the cage.
Supq tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
A head punch on the inside from Supq fails to land.
Griffith tries to pull guard but Supq forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Supq manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Griffith stopping the sweep attempt from Supq.
Griffith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Supq not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Griffith engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Supq looking for subs off his back but Griffith has passed one foot through into half guard.

Well, if Griffith is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Supq is trying to maintain the position but Griffith is very close to passing his half guard.
Griffith controlling the pace.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Griffith has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Griffith has managed to clinch.
Griffith looking for a takedown.
Griffith is trying to pull guard but Supq has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harvey Griffith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Griffith tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Supq smiles and moves away.

Supq scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Supq tries to advance to mount but can't.
Griffith tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Supq wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Griffith struggling a bit here.
Griffith sneaks back into half guard.
Griffith moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Griffith is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Supq must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Supq gets to his feet - Griffith follows without any prompting.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Supq shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Supq slips a nice elbow through Griffith's hands, connecting with Griffith's forehead.
Griffith is trying to stand back up but Supq is controlling him
Supq prevents Griffith from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Griffith moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shstobah Supq dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Supq drags the fight down to the ground.
Griffith sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Supq wants to get back to his feet but Griffith is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Supq manages to pull guard.
Griffith tries to free his leg and advance position but Supq is retaining full guard.
Supq trying to keep a closed guard but Griffith is proving a slippery customer.
Supq is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Griffith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Griffith's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Griffith seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Supq for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Supq moves into the clinch successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Griffith drags the fight down to the ground.
Griffith wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Supq tries to free his leg and advance position but Griffith is retaining full guard.
Griffith looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Supq trying to control the position from guard on top but Griffith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Supq is breathing heavily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Griffith is on top in guard.

Griffith wants to stand but Supq has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Shstobah Supq will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Supq misses with a low kick as Griffith jumps back.

Supq has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Griffith is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Supq.

Griffith stands up and beckons Supq to his feet.
Harvey Griffith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Supq lands a nice leg kick that just misses Griffith's sensitive parts.

Supq takes the fight into the clinch.

Griffith manages to pull guard.
Griffith pulls Supq in close to his closed guard and prevents Supq from doing any damage or advancing position.
Supq pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Griffith is keeping the position for now.

Griffith looking to hit a scissor sweep but Supq is one step ahead there.
Griffith wants to stand up but Supq is controlling him.
Supq would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Griffith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Supq's guard.

Supq takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Griffith is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Supq is looking to stand up but Griffith isn't so interested in that idea.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Griffith's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Griffith stays in close to Supq's body and controls the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Griffith avoids the head kick by Supq.
Supq misses with a wild combination.
Supq finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A combination from Supq does no damage.

Griffith shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Griffith content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Supq is looking for a sweep. Griffith is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Harvey Griffith.
I think Supq has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
