Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rock Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirco Rodic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mirco Rodic!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Rodic. No joy for Sampson on that attempt.
Rodic with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Sampson shoots in but no luck this time.
Sampson tries for a takedown but Rodic sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rock Sampson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sampson displaying some good clinch control by pressing Rodic up against the cage.
Sampson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rodic breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sampson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
It looks like Rock Sampson has been cut.
Sampson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rodic lands with a straight right. Sampson didn't see that one coming.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sampson tries for a takedown but Rodic sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rodic throws a sloppy head kick and Sampson moves out of range easily.
Sampson seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Rodic shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Sampson is backing up but Rodic catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Sampson covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Rodic Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mirco Rodic!
