The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Noble.
Noble is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Noble throws a hook but Maldonado Jr blocks it.
Consti Noble seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Noble displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Maldonado Jr.

Noble forces Maldonado Jr back against the cage and clinches.

Maldonado Jr is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Maldonado Jr jumps guard but Noble stands there with Maldonado Jr around his waist. Maldonado Jr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Maldonado Jr jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Noble walks away with a smile on his face. Maldonado Jr gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Maldonado Jr has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
