And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mccormick dives in and scores a takedown into Bruwer's guard.
Mccormick throws an elbow that misses. Bruwer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mccormick's guard. Nice move by Bruwer!

Bruwer lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Bruwer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Bruwer shoots in and gets a takedown into Mccormick's guard.

Mccormick looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bruwer is one step ahead there.
Bruwer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Let's hope that Bruwer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Bruwer wants to control from the top but Mccormick keeps moving.

Bruwer moves into range and clinches up with Mccormick.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mccormick is trying to pull guard but Bruwer turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Bruwer drags the fight down to the ground.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mccormick throws an elbow that misses. Bruwer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mccormick's guard. Nice move by Bruwer!

Bruwer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Bruwer bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mccormick knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bruwer on the ground.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Bruwer looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Mccormick is avoiding damage well.
The strikes coming from Bruwer are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Bruwer. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Bruwer tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

Mccormick manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bruwer thows a huge punch but Mccormick dodges it nicely.
Bruwer wants to control but Mccormick is keeping him busy.
Kevin Bruwer has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bruwer uses his free foot to push down on Mccormick's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mccormick.
Mccormick can't escape the position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bruwer cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Bruwer looking to control and managing it successfully.
Bruwer avoids the attempt from Mccormick to control.
Mccormick is looking to improve his position but Bruwer isn't that keen on the idea.
Bruwer breaks from Mccormick's wrist control and lands an elbow.
A nice elbow there by Bruwer.
Bruwer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bruwer lands a couple of good shots and Mccormick has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Mccormick trying to control the position but Bruwer manages to sink in the hooks.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bruwer controls the action.
Bruwer scores with punches from the back.
Mccormick is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Mccormick won't enjoy being in this position. Bruwer looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Mccormick is tapping - it's over boys! Bruwer picks up the submission victory!
