And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tim Poutsi!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Reed Andrews and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seppala gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Seppala misses with a body shot.
Poutsi throws a push kick but Seppala slaps the foot to one side.
Poutsi lands with a thumping leg kick.
A punch combination from Poutsi misses.

Poutsi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Seppala landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Seppala swings wildly with an uppercut but Poutsi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Poutsi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Seppala fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Seppala throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Poutsi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Poutsi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Seppala misses with a lunging right hand

and Poutsi counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Poutsi.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Poutsi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Seppala takes a shot to the head.
Poutsi tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Seppala's elbow.
Poutsi scores with a shot to the side of Seppala's head.
Seppala misses with a punch to the body.

Seppala breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Poutsi looks to score with a jab to the body but Seppala is just out of range.

and Seppala counters with a nice uppercut.
Nice defenses there by Poutsi.
Poutsi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Seppala swats away the attempt to clinch by Poutsi.
Poutsi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Seppala misses with a right hand

and Poutsi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Seppala is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Poutsi lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Seppala looking for a sweep. Not yet Seppala, not yet.
Seppala is working hard here to advance position.
Poutsi throwing strikes from guard but Seppala blocks nicely.
Poutsi throwing strikes but missing.
Poutsi wants to control from the top but Seppala keeps moving.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Seppala wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A telegraphed right hand from Poutsi misses the target.
Seppala drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Seppala lands with a nice body punch.
Seppala misses with a body kick.
Poutsi falls off balance throwing a combination
and Seppala counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Poutsi misses with a body punch
and Seppala counters with a left to the body.
Poutsi lands the left hand.
Seppala blocks a jab.
Seppala misses with a right hand
and Poutsi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tim Poutsi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Poutsi throws a hook but Seppala avoids it easily.
Seppala avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Poutsi thuds a left hand into Seppala's body.
Poutsi misses with a hook to the body
letting Seppala counter with a right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Poutsi slips a jab from Seppala.

Seppala jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Poutsi punishes Seppala's body with a nice straight punch.
Seppala stuffs the takedown attempt from Poutsi. Poutsi gets slowly back to his feet.
Poutsi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Seppala sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Poutsi dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Poutsi connects with a right hand. Seppala shakes it off.
Poutsi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Poutsi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Poutsi lands a really nice looking cross but Seppala seems unphased.
Poutsi takes a swing at Seppala's ribcage but misses.
Poutsi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Seppala but Seppala pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice body punch from Poutsi.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Poutsi connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Seppala to the floor! Poutsi dives in looking for the finish!

Poutsi lands a big elbow - Seppala is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Poutsi!

Tim Poutsi tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
